I wanted to share with you the incredible journey that led me to create this platform and how it's making a difference for small businesses and creative entrepreneurs across North America.

The Spark!:

During the pandemic, I faced a turning point in my life when I lost my hospitality and marketing job, after dedicating two decades to the industry. Witnessing the devastating effects of Covid-19 on businesses, including small shops and artisans, struck a chord deep within me. I've always been a fervent supporter of small businesses and cherished the unique charm they bring to our lives.

My Vision: I realized that amidst the pandemic's challenges, finding and supporting these local gems became an uphill battle for shoppers. I wanted to bridge this gap and make it easier for people to connect with small businesses. Additionally, as someone who cherished the vibrant spirit of makers markets and craft fairs, I saw an opportunity to extend the reach of these creative entrepreneurs beyond the limitations of seasonal outdoor events.

The Birth of Our Community: Fuelled by my passion and determination, I embarked on a mission to create Our Community. This platform is not just about commerce; it's about creating a thriving ecosystem where small businesses and artisans can flourish. OC is a place where shoppers can discover hidden gems and immerse themselves in the creativity of independent entrepreneurs.

 

The Impact: Since starting this journey, I've been humbled by the overwhelming response from thousands of followers on social media. However, my true joy comes from witnessing the positive impact OC has on businesses and the communities they serve. By championing shopping small and locally, we've empowered countless entrepreneurs to grow their businesses sustainably. Moreover, by supporting creative North American businesses, we're preserving and promoting the beauty of artisan trades.
